You may be wondering about my journey into health and fitness and what makes me your ideal Pilates instructor.

Dance and fitness have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up dancing every day after school and went on to train professionally for 3 years at London Studio Centre, one of the UKs leading professional dance colleges where I gained a BA Hons. degree in Theatre Dance. It was during my time there that I first encountered Pilates, otherwise known as body control. I have worked for 8 years in the professional dance industry performing many shows, most recently performing Grease the musical with Royal Caribbean International. Performing at this level has been a challenge in many ways, and it has brought to light how important it is to work with a healthy mind and body. Muscular and structural body imbalances are so important to identify and correct. Small changes can make a huge impact in someones quality of life, when it comes to pain, stiffness, flexibility and stress management. Pilates has helped keep my posture in check, and use my body in a safe way. It has taught me how to activate my deep set stabilizers, find my pelvic floor and actively correct my posture.

As a dancer I have encountered many set-backs with body limitations and injuries. Over the years I have learnt how to prevent injuries, recover quickly, train safely, stretch correctly, move optimally, and breathe deeply. Pilates has always helped me to regain strength and work out imbalances causing unnecessary strain on my joints. I also have found that Pilates is of as much benefit to the mind as it is to the body. It recharges you mentally, learning to let go of unnecessary tension and worry, and gives you a safe space to focus entirely on your own well-being for the duration of the class.

I decided that I wanted to help others with my knowledge and expertise and so I qualified as a level 3 Pilates instructor. I am dedicated to passing on my knowledge of how to move your body safely and gain strength to keep your body and mind as healthy as possible.

I look forward to helping you on your journey to a healthy mind and body.
